Wicked Choice (Wicked Horse Vegas, Book #4)
by Sawyer Bennett

Release Date: January 2, 2018

Synopsis: Rachel Hart and Bodie Wright are nothing more than teammates. As mercenaries for hire with the elite Jameson Group, they have each other’s backs in the most dangerous of circumstances. But after a mission gone deadly wrong, Rachel does something she’s never done before. She crosses the professional line and takes comfort in Bodie’s arms.

One night of passion turns their lives upside down with a pregnancy neither of them expected, and one that Rachel was too terrified to ever want. Bodie, however, is a family man through and through, and he’s determined to raise their child alone if necessary.

The only common thread Rachel and Bodie have is their membership at The Wicked Horse, a sex club that lets them both fulfill their dirtiest fantasies with each other. As they become more intimately entwined, the strong, steady man with a heart of gold makes Rachel question everything she ever thought she knew about herself. Their wicked nights together make them so much more than teammates and Rachel is about to discover the choices she thought were the most difficult are actually the easiest ones to make.

What I thought about Wicked Choice

It seems like I'm reading quite a few "unexpected pregnancy" romances these days, so I wasn't surprised to see one turn up in this series.  After all, there's a whole lot of sex going on at the Wicked Horse and other places.

Bodie and Rachel are part of the Jameson Group, an elite force of private contractors who get into all sorts of dangerous situations. When a mission goes bad, Rachel and Bodie find comfort in sex to take their mind off of things and they end up with a surprise pregnancy.

Rachel loves her career and a baby doesn't fit into it, so when Bodie asks her to keep the baby and she agrees, it's with the understanding that Bodie would have sole responsibility for rearing the child. He plans to quit his job and return to the farm in Nebraska, even though that wasn't his long term plan originally.

When Rachel and Bodie decide to continue their sexual relationship at the Wicked Horse and outside of the club, all that togetherness has both of them contemplating their future options.  Bodie is committed, but he also recognizes that in spite of Rachel's denial, she's starting to look at her future differently.

I really liked this story.  It touches upon an important aspect many people of child-bearing age have to face, whether the pregnancy is planned or not. Rachel's desire to continue her career is handled with sensitivity, understanding and realism in Wicked Choice and I loved that about it.

Bodie and Rachel are super hot together too, as they decide to continue to play at the Wicked Horse after the news. That's another great part of this series -- there's no shame at the sex club and beyond, and no judgement.  Another definite plus for this story.

I've given this 5 stars because I loved the characters and their dilemma.  I thought they handled it very well but still left some things to doubt that needed to be resolved.  There's a little bit of "oh no, she didn't" towards the end, but that just made the ending sweeter.  Wicked Choice is a steamy read that kept me turning the pages until the end.

I'm glad to see there will be more coming about the Jameson Group as well.  Looking forward to it.
